JORGE LUNA LUCIO

Education

He obtained his law degree at Universidad Anahuac suma cum laude. He obtained postgraduate studies in  Obligations and Contracts at the Escuela Libre de Derecho and a Masters in Law “LL.M.” at University of California Los Angeles “UCLA”, specializing in Anglo-American Law, where he studied Contracts, Civil Procedures, Torts, Secured Transactions, Evidence and Insurance.

Previous Experience

He started his professional carrier in 1998 and in 2001, he incorporated to the civil and commercial litigation area at Goodrich, Riquelme & Asociados where he remained until 2004, continuing in the corporate area as senior associate until 2008. Afterwards, he became General Counsel at Impulso, Grupo Empresarial.

He has lectured at the Universidad Anahuac in Civil and Commercial Procedural Law. Additionally, he is author of several articles and opinions among which are: “Operative Leases and its links with Importing and Exporting Companies”, Mexico City, Mexico, Journal of the National Association of Importers and Exporters of the Mexican Republic (ANIERM), 2004; “Agency and Distribution Agreements”, England, Kluwer Law, 2006 “Doing Leases in Mexico”, Los Angeles, California, U.S.A., Business Lawyer, 2007; “The Statute of Frauds and the Civilian Legal Form”, Los Angeles, California, U.S.A., UCLA Law Review, 2007. Currently, he is in the process of writing the first book about Leasing in Mexico.

Mr. Luna-Lucio is member of the Mexican Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the International Bar Association.

Practice Areas

Mr. Luna-Lucio’s law practice is focused in the corporate, finance, banking, securities and international operations areas, primarily specializing in the study and analysis of the leasing figure throughout the world.
